Rangemaster vs Stoves vs Belling: Ovens, Warranty, Owners
By the Hill & May team
Updated 2026
Rangemaster vs Stoves vs Belling is the comparison most people make when they want a range cooker without paying for an Aga, and the three are less alike than the showroom suggests. Rangemaster is built around two big fan ovens and a separate grill. Stoves, at 100cm and 110cm, squeezes in four working ovens, including a 13-function multifunction oven and a dedicated slow cook oven. Belling is the simpler, plainer option: two ovens plus a grill, a slow cook setting rather than a slow cook oven.
They also come from two different companies. Stoves and Belling are sister brands under Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, which is why their cookers share so much. Rangemaster belongs to AGA Rangemaster, alongside Aga and Falcon, and is not related to either of them, whatever some retailer blurbs say.
Everything below was checked on rangemaster.co.uk, stoves.co.uk and belling.co.uk in November 2026. We compare the 100cm dual fuel models, the most popular width, and note where 90cm and 110cm differ.

Stoves quotes 196 litres in total across the four ovens of the 100cm Richmond. Belling’s own Cookcentre and Farmhouse 100DF pages give two different totals (199 litres in the heading, 157 in the text), so ask the retailer for the figure in the installation manual if capacity is your deciding point.
The real difference: how many ovens you get
Stoves is the one to look at if you cook for a crowd or batch-cook. Its QuadOven layout on the 100cm and 110cm Richmond and Richmond Deluxe gives you a multifunction main oven with 13 functions (defrost, slow cook, keep warm, pizza, AirFry among them), a separate fan oven, a conventional top oven that doubles as the grill, and a small dedicated slow cook oven. That means a casserole can sit in the slow oven all afternoon while the other three do a roast, potatoes and a pudding. Stoves also uses a digital TrueTemp thermostat that sets the main oven in five-degree steps.
Rangemaster keeps it simpler and roomier per oven. The Classic 100 has an 80-litre fan oven, a tall 82-litre fan oven, and a separate grill compartment, so you can grill while both ovens are busy, which you cannot do on a Stoves, where the grill lives in the conventional oven. If you want a multifunction oven in a Rangemaster, you need the Nexus (see our Rangemaster Nexus review and the Classic vs Professional vs Nexus comparison).
Belling gives you a fan main oven (with AirFry and dough proving), a conventional second oven with slow cook and keep warm settings, and a separate variable grill. Two ovens and a grill covers most families; it just lacks the extra cavity and the multifunction settings of the Stoves.
At 90cm the gap narrows. The Stoves Richmond 90DF drops to three ovens (174 litres), and the Richmond Deluxe 90DF splits its tall fan oven with a removable divider to make a fourth. Belling’s Farmhouse 90DF has an 81-litre tall fan oven, a second oven and a separate grill. Our best 90cm range cookers page covers that width in detail, and range cooker oven configurations explains every layout.
Warranty: Stoves and Belling give more, with one trap
The 100cm Stoves Richmond, Richmond Deluxe and Belling Cookcentre and Farmhouse product pages all state 3 years parts and labour. Rangemaster’s standard cover is one year, rising to two if you register within 30 days of delivery. Rangemaster has been running a five-year parts and labour promotion on eligible range cookers bought by 30 November 2026, which needs a separate claim (details on our Rangemaster 5 year warranty offer page).
The trap is the clock. Stoves and Belling ask you to register within 30 days of purchase, not delivery. Range cookers often take weeks to arrive, so register from your order confirmation rather than waiting for the box. Rangemaster counts from delivery. The full rules for every brand are in our range cooker warranty registration guide.
Looks and choice of finish
Rangemaster offers the widest choice of looks: the arched-window Classic, the flat-fronted Professional and the modern Nexus, each in several colours. Stoves has the Richmond and the Richmond Deluxe, and a Colour Boutique of extra paint finishes. Belling has two traditional designs, the Cookcentre and the more country-styled Farmhouse, plus the Vision range at 90cm. If the cooker is the centrepiece of the kitchen and you want a particular colour, start with Rangemaster or the Stoves Colour Boutique.
Price and where they are made
We do not quote prices, which change weekly and with cashback offers, but the order on the shop floor is usually Belling cheapest, with Stoves and Rangemaster overlapping above it depending on model and promotion. All three brands run cashback deals through the year; our range cooker sale dates page tracks them.
Rangemaster still builds its 90cm, 100cm and 110cm range cookers in Royal Leamington Spa. Glen Dimplex Home Appliances announced in late 2023 that it would move Stoves and Belling cooker production out of its factory at Prescot, Merseyside, and Belling says its relaunched Cookcentre and Farmhouse ranges are made with a new manufacturing partner. If British manufacture matters to you, that now points to Rangemaster.
Which one should you buy?
- Buy the Stoves Richmond if you want the most ovens in the space, a dedicated slow cook oven and a multifunction oven without paying Nexus money, and you value a three-year warranty.
- Buy the Rangemaster if you want two big ovens with a grill you can use at the same time, the widest choice of styles and colours, UK manufacture, and the deepest network of spare parts and engineers (see are Rangemaster cookers reliable).
- Buy the Belling if you want a solid two-oven range cooker with a three-year warranty at the lowest outlay, and you do not need a multifunction oven or slow cook cavity.

Frequently asked questions
Are Stoves and Belling the same company? Yes. Both are brands of Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, which also owns New World, and their range cookers share many parts and features. Rangemaster is a separate company, part of AGA Rangemaster.
Which is better, Rangemaster or Stoves? It depends on how you cook. Stoves fits four ovens into a 100cm cooker, including a multifunction and a slow cook oven, and gives three years’ warranty. Rangemaster gives two larger fan ovens, a separate grill and more styles, with two years’ cover once registered.
Is Belling a good range cooker brand? Belling makes straightforward two-oven range cookers with a separate grill and a three-year parts and labour warranty on its current 100cm models. It is usually the lowest-priced of the three, and lacks the multifunction oven of the Stoves Richmond and Rangemaster Nexus.
Which range cooker has the longest warranty? Among these three, Stoves and Belling: 3 years parts and labour on their 100cm range cookers, registered within 30 days of purchase. Rangemaster gives 2 years once registered, or 5 on eligible cookers under its current promotion.
Are Rangemaster, Stoves and Belling made in Britain? Rangemaster range cookers are built in Royal Leamington Spa. Stoves and Belling production was moved out of the Prescot factory after a 2023 announcement, and Belling uses a new manufacturing partner for its relaunched ranges, so check the country of origin with the retailer.
