Cooker Recalls UK: 10 Live Notices, Checked October 2026
By the Hill & May team
Updated 2026
This is our running list of every cooker recall in the UK that still matters to a household: the safety notices on gas cookers, range cookers, gas hobs and one cooker hood that are still listed by the government’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) or by the industry’s Register My Appliance scheme. Every entry gives the brands and models, what can go wrong, and the free number to call. All repairs under these notices are free, even if the cooker is out of warranty or second-hand.
Last checked against both sources on 7 October 2026. We re-check monthly and date each change.

Where to find your model number
Most freestanding cookers carry a rating plate or data badge with the model number, product code and serial number. Common places:
- Hotpoint, Indesit and Cannon: a sticker on the inside of the top oven door.
- Belling, Stoves and New World: the data badge on the front lower panel, behind the main oven door. Belling product codes are nine-digit numbers starting 4444.
- Beko, Leisure and Flavel: the rating plate at the bottom front edge of the appliance.
- Built-in gas hobs: usually a label on the underside of the hob, plus a duplicate in the instruction booklet or on the guarantee card. If the hob is fitted and you cannot reach it, the brand’s helpline can often identify it from a photo or receipt.
Hotpoint and Indesit gas cookers: O-ring leak (February 2025)
OPSS report 2412-0075 covers freestanding Hotpoint and Indesit gas cookers made between 25 October and 22 November 2024. The O-rings on the lid shut-off valve, which cuts the gas when the glass lid over the hob is closed, can wear early and let gas escape. If it ignites, the result can be a fire and burns.
Affected models:
- Hotpoint: HDM67G0CCX/UK, HDM67G0CCB/UK, HDM67G9C2CB/UK, CD67G0CCX/UK, HDM67G0C2CX/U, HDM67G0CCW/UK, HDM67G9C2CX/U, HDM67G9C2CW/UK, HDM67G0C2CB/UK, CD67G0C2CA/UK, HD67G02CCW/UK, HDM67G9C2CSB/UK, HDM67G8C2CX/UK
- Indesit: ID67G0MCW/UK, ID67G0MCX/UK, ID67G0MCB/UK, ID67G0MMB/UK
The model alone does not mean your cooker is affected: only the batches from those four weeks are. Do not use the cooker if your model is listed, and call 0800 316 3887 with the model and serial number. An engineer will replace the part free. The full notice is on GOV.UK’s product safety report.
Belling, Stoves and New World range cookers: the grill door (November 2022)
This is the notice with the largest number of cookers in British kitchens. OPSS report 2205-0240 covers gas range cookers with a gas grill in the 90, 100 and 110cm sizes, made by Glen Dimplex under the Belling, Stoves and New World names and bought between 2010 and 2022. If the grill is used with its door closed, the burner is starved of air and can produce extremely dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.
What to do:
- Until the cooker has been modified, only use the gas grill with the grill door fully open.
- Call 0800 110 5728 or email consumersupport@glendimplex.com to book the free modification.
- Fit a carbon monoxide alarm in or near the kitchen if you do not already have one. It costs little and is the only way to know the gas is there, since carbon monoxide has no smell.
The full model list, with pictures, is in the PDF attached to the GOV.UK report. If you are shopping for a range cooker now, our range cooker buying guide covers grill types.
Belling Cookcentre and Farmhouse 60cm gas cookers (December 2022)
OPSS report 2212-0109 covers two 60cm “mini range” gas cookers where an incorrect part was fitted to the flue pipe, restricting ventilation and creating a risk of carbon monoxide leaks. The corrective action started in 2021 and was reissued in 2022.
| Model | Colour | Product code |
|---|---|---|
| Belling Cookcentre 60G | Black | 444410824 |
| Belling Cookcentre 60G | Stainless steel | 444410825 |
| Belling Farmhouse 60G | Silver | 444410791 |
| Belling Farmhouse 60G | Cream | 44444716 |
| Belling Farmhouse 60G | Black | 44444717 |
| Belling Farmhouse 60G | Hot Jalapeno | 44444718 |
The product codes are copied as GOV.UK prints them; the last three appear to be missing a digit, so check the start of the code on your badge. Stop using the oven and contact Belling to book an engineer inspection before you use it again.
Gas hob elbow joints: 12 brands (September 2023)
OPSS coordinated a single corrective programme across 12 brands of built-in gas hob whose gas supply elbow joint could leak, with a serious risk of poisoning, burns, explosion or fire. The manufacturers committed to visit every affected home and make the hob safe. If you have one of these brands, call the number even if you are unsure of the model; the advisers can check it for you, 8am to 6pm, seven days a week.

Anyone using one of these hobs in a caravan, leisure home or motorhome on bottled gas should disconnect it from the cylinder now, as OPSS advises, and call. Model lists for each brand are linked from the OPSS gas hob elbow joint page. Choosing a replacement? See our gas hob buying guide.
Older notices still listed
These date back several years, but the cookers last for decades and are often sold second-hand or left behind in rented and sold homes, which is why Register My Appliance still lists them.
Beko, Leisure and Flavel gas cookers with a separate grill (July 2013). Some models can produce dangerous carbon monoxide if the grill is used with the grill door closed. Listed models include Beko DCG8511WLPG, DCG8511PLW and DG581LWP; Leisure CM10NRK, CM10NRC, AL6NDW, CM101NRCP and CM101NRKP; Flavel DCGAP5LS, AP5LDWP, AP5LDW, AP5LDSP and Milano ML5NDS. Keep the grill door open and call 0800 917 2018 for a free modification.
Older Belling and New World gas cookers (September and December 2014). The same grill door hazard on a further set of models, including the Belling G755 MK2, GT755 and Country Chef 100G, Belling Classic and Range 100G and 100GT models, the New World Ellingwood 80, 100 and 110 ranges and New World Vision 50 models. The 2014 notices gave 0800 093 9945 for the range models and 0800 110 5728 for the others; 0800 110 5728 is the number Glen Dimplex now gives for grill modifications in its 2022 notice.
Hotpoint, Indesit and Cannon gas cookers bought in October and November 2013. A component could fail and leak gas. The notice asks owners to check the sticker inside the top oven door, stop using the cooker if affected and call 01733 287 843 or email cookers@hotpoint.co.uk.
Bosch NGU4151DB and Neff T20S31N0 built-in gas hobs, made January 2009 to October 2011 (February 2017). The gas connection fitting can be damaged and leak. Turn off the gas to the hob, do not use it, and call 0800 0287 260 for a free replacement connector.
Whirlpool AKM 274/IX stainless steel gas hob, made September 2014 to March 2016 (April 2018). The front left burner was fitted with the wrong injector and can give off carbon monoxide above the permitted level. Do not use the front left burner; the others are fine. Call 0800 316 3885.
Zanussi ZHC60136X cooker hood, product number 942122680, serial numbers 32100001 to 34299999 (October 2014). A slight risk of electric shock. The rating plate is on the left inner wall behind the grease filters. Switch the hood off at the isolator and contact Zanussi. More on hoods in our cooker hood buying guide.
Portable hobs and mini ovens bought online
Most OPSS notices on small cooking appliances in 2025 and 2026 are border rejections: an electric ceramic stove (2512-0242), a toaster oven model BH-003 (2601-0204), a ceramic infrared cooker (2509-0179), an electric hot plate (2509-0193) and a portable induction hob (2508-0001) were all stopped at import and destroyed, mostly for fake or substandard plugs and fuses. They never reached shops, but similar products are sold through online marketplaces. If a plug-in hob or mini oven has a plug that feels loose in the socket, gets warm, or does not carry a BS 1363 marking, stop using it.
How to make sure you hear about the next one
- Register your cooker with the manufacturer, or through Register My Appliance, the free industry scheme. If there is a safety issue, the maker can contact you directly.
- Check the GOV.UK list at Product safety alerts, reports and recalls, which can be filtered by product type.
- When you move house, check the model of any cooker or hob left behind and register it in your name.
- Buying second-hand? Check the model against this page before you pay, and have a Gas Safe registered engineer connect any gas appliance. Our guides to gas cookers and LPG cookers explain the connection rules.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check if my cooker has been recalled in the UK? Find the model and serial number on the rating plate, usually inside the oven door or on the front lower panel, and compare it against the notices above or the GOV.UK product safety alerts list. If you are unsure, call the brand’s freephone number.
Do I have to pay for a cooker recall repair? No. Repairs and modifications under these safety notices are free, including for second-hand cookers and those out of warranty.
Can I keep using my cooker while I wait for an engineer? It depends on the notice. For the Hotpoint and Indesit O-ring issue and the Belling 60cm flue issue, stop using it. For the grill door notices, you can keep cooking but must only use the grill with its door fully open.
Is the Belling grill door carbon monoxide issue a recall? It is a safety notice with a free modification rather than a product recall. The cooker stays in your kitchen and an engineer modifies it so the grill cannot produce dangerous carbon monoxide.
Which gas hobs are affected by the elbow joint safety issue? Certain built-in gas hobs sold under 12 brands: Belling/Stoves, Caple, Cata/Culina, Comfee, Cooke and Lewis, Cookology, Electriq, Kitchenplus, Russell Hobbs, Samsung, Statesman and Swan. Not every hob from these brands is affected; the brand’s helpline will check your model.
What should I do if I smell gas from my cooker? Turn off the appliance and, if safe, the gas at the meter. Open windows, do not use switches or flames, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999, or 0800 002 001 in Northern Ireland.
